Why travel with Iddo

One expert, from first idea to final farewell.

Seventh-generation Israeli. Archaeologist. Licensed master guide who trained the next generation of guides. Thirty years of learning this extraordinary land — and when you travel with me, that entire library travels with you. A tour here is a journey through land and through time — toward wider understanding and deeper connection, whatever your background — and it should resonate long after you return home.

I love this land, and I want you to love it too. On or off the beaten path, my aim is simple — to give you my Israel: to let you see it through my eyes, a legend that became reality.

Direct access to the expert

No agency, no call center. You plan with me, travel with me, and can call me anytime — one phone number from first sketch to farewell.

Deeply educational

Degrees in Land of Israel Studies, geography and biology; decades of lecturing. I'll teach you the land the way I read it — in layers.

Seamless logistics

Hotels, private transport, reservations, VIP airport fast-track. I carry the clipboard so your family never has to.

Unmatched authenticity

I've held this history in my own hands — including at my excavation at Kursi Beach, on the Sea of Galilee. Some stories you can only hear from the person who dug them up.

Curated experiences

Three ways into the story.

Every journey is built from a blank page — but most begin in one of three places. Whichever door you enter through, everything connects — every site, market and wadi is a building block in one larger story, and on the last evening you’ll look back and see the thread linking every milestone we passed together.

Family Milestones

Bar and bat mitzvahs at ancient synagogues, anniversaries on the Galilee, three generations traveling at one comfortable pace. Journeys that turn family history into family memory.

Faith-Based Pilgrimages

Walk the Gospel trail, the Via Dolorosa and the wilderness of the prophets with an archaeologist who reads the land alongside the text — traditional and scholarly perspectives, side by side.

Bespoke Adventures

Desert jeeps at dawn, boutique wineries, working excavations and hidden wadis. If you can describe it, I can build the day around it.

Your journey, perfectly paced.

No two groups walk at the same speed. Every journey starts from a blank page — your interests, your ages, your questions. Grandparents rest while teenagers climb, and the plan bends around you, never the other way around.

Hassle-free by design

The easiest trip you'll ever plan.

Planning a milestone trip usually feels like a second job — a dozen browser tabs, a chain of vendors, and the quiet fear that something important is slipping. Here, that weight moves to my desk after a single conversation.

Start the conversation

One conversation

Thirty minutes, by phone or note. Who's traveling, what you love, what pace feels right — and what worries you. That last one matters most. And from this first sketch on, consider the friendship begun.

A journey, sketched

Within days you hold a day-by-day itinerary — hotels, routes, tables, tickets. We refine it together until it reads like your family, not like a brochure.

Travel, carried

From the airport handshake to the farewell, I drive, teach and quietly rearrange details as the days unfold. Your only job is to be present.

Good to know

Straight answers, before you ask.

What does a private tour of Israel cost?

Most tailor-made journeys land between $1,200 and $1,800 per touring day for the whole group — one transparent invoice covering guiding, private vehicle, fuel and planning. Hotels and meals are booked at cost, with no agency markup.

What exactly is included?

Everything between the airport doors: itinerary design, licensed guiding, private transport driven by me, luxury hotel and restaurant bookings, VIP airport fast-track, tickets and permits. You chase no vendors — ever.

Do you guide both Christian pilgrimages and Jewish heritage journeys?

Yes — I have for thirty years. Pilgrimages walk the Gospel trail with denomination-sensitive scheduling; heritage journeys celebrate roots, milestones and family history. Both get the archaeologist’s eye: text and terrain, side by side.

Can one itinerary really work for kids and grandparents?

Yes — multi-generational pacing is my specialty. Cable car for the elders, snake path for the teenagers, sunrise for everyone. The plan bends around your group’s energy, never the other way around.

How far ahead should we book?

Six to nine months for peak seasons — spring holidays and fall — to secure the best hotels. Shorter notice is often workable; ask before you rule anything out.

How do we begin?

With one short conversation — thirty minutes by phone or a note through the form. You’ll have a first day-by-day sketch within days, with no commitment and no pressure.

Begin the conversation

Let's design your journey.

Tell me a little about who's traveling and what draws you to Israel. I'll reply personally within a day, and we'll start sketching — no commitment, no pressure, just the first page of the plan.
